Democratic leadership has made San Diego unaffordable for many San
Diegans. Radical liberal policies promoting higher prices, taxes and
out-of-control spending have brought a cost-of-living crisis to low
and middle-income families. Our families need relief, not additional
hardship.

The Republican Party of San Diego County and our elected officials
will stand strong against these attacks on low and middle-income
earners across this county by opposing tax increases. The prospect of
higher taxes translates into diminished opportunities for savings,
investment, and upward mobility, perpetuating cycles of financial
insecurity and widening economic disparities.

The surge in proposed tax increases is not just disheartening; it's
alarming. Tax hikes threaten to make life in San Diego County
significantly more expensive, adding to the already burdensome cost of
living for individuals and families.

"The implications of tax hikes reverberate far beyond mere numbers on
a balance sheet; they profoundly affect the daily lives of hardworking
individuals and families," declared Chairman Corey Gustafson. "With
each additional tax burden, the cost of goods and services inevitably
rises, creating a domino effect that ripples through the economy. From
groceries to gas, housing to healthcare, every facet of life becomes
more financially taxing, pushing the already stretched budgets of
households to their limits.

This is a serious issue that we, as the Republican Party of San Diego
County, are committed to addressing.

Beyond the immediate financial strain, the ripple effects of tax
increases extend to local businesses, which face heightened operating
costs and reduced consumer spending. Small and family-owned
businesses, already grappling with the aftermath of pandemic-induced
disruptions, find themselves navigating an increasingly challenging
landscape, with higher taxes further impeding their ability to thrive
and create jobs.

Voters can count on Republican leaders to fight for better government
and lower taxes.
