I must share some bittersweet AYD news - our Publicity Director, former secretary, and unrivaled karaoke crooner Yint Hmu has resigned from his post to pursue an incredible opportunity elsewhere. We wish him the best and will miss him dearly; I hope the newsletter continues to make him proud.
This does leave us with an opening for his position - if you or someone you know is interested in working with our social media presence, writing public statements, and in general being involved with our public-facing communications, email Bryant at [email protected]; we’d love to talk to you!

Arlington Democrats School Board Endorsement Vote - Happening Now!
This year, there will be two open seats for the Arlington County School Board. The Arlington Democrats will hold a vote of Democratic community members to endorse two candidates for the November General Election ballot. This endorsement vote process is in lieu of a primary because School Board candidates are not listed by Party on the ballot in Arlington.
There are four candidates campaigning for the party’s endorsement this year. Arlington Democrats will tally the winners of the endorsement vote by Ranked Choice Voting.
More information about the School Board Endorsement Vote, and how to participate, can be found at www.arlingtondemocrats.org/sbev2024. |
The Call for Delegates Sounds again! The 8th CD Committee has re-opened the filing process for people who want to attend our district and state conventions. The 8th CD convention is May 18 at 10am at Alexandria High School and the state convention is Jun 22 in Richmond.
Add on Delegates/Alternates for Arlington (8th CD and State Conventions)
Arlington Democrats need to send a full delegation to these two conventions to help Arlington candidates be selected for National Delegate and other positions. Preferably, you can attend both conventions but it is not required in order for you to file and with just one week until our district convention, filling those slots are a priority.
We need about 20 more people to fill our open seats so please sign up today!
