Friend,

At the National Immigration Law Center, our team is fighting each day for a
country where everyone is safe, protected, and has the freedom to thrive. But our fight is far from easy .

Texas wants to empower state and local law enforcement to detain and potentially
deport immigrants suspected of entering or re-entering the country without
inspection, even if they have federal permission to be in the U.S. This directly threatens the safety of countless immigrant families .

We must push back forcefully against unconstitutional legislation that empowers
vigilante treatment of immigrants – circumventing the federal government’s role .

We immediately took a stand when this bill was filed, bringing a lawsuit on
behalf of individuals who would be directly harmed. The cruelty of S.B. 4 and
its affect on the lives of our plaintiffs and countless others cannot be
overstated.

In the quest for justice, this law is a setback - but not an insurmountable one.
We remain fully committed to using every legal avenue to combat this unconstitutional move.

Your donations enable us to provide legal representation, advocacy, and support
to individuals affected by S.B. 4 and other unjust policies. You can help us fight back .

So we’re asking, friend — will you donate to help us
reach our critical $500,000 spring fundraising goal? Every gift helps us build
power to stay focused on justice.
