In the past few weeks, the effects of COVID-19 have continued to unfold, affecting us all. Though we distance ourselves physically, we must come together to ensure everyone in the UK is supported through this pandemic.

We welcome the steps government has taken to protect people’s livelihoods and homes. However, there are some people who are still not getting the help they need.

Together, we can make sure our government – at Westminster and across the UK – takes extra steps to ensure;
 

• Brave essential workers on the frontline of this crisis have personal protective equipment, information, training and psychological support.
   
• Those at risk of domestic abuse who are forced to stay at home with their abusers are able to get the support they need. Migrant women are at particular risk if they are unable to access public funds, especially as many perpetrators use fear of immigration enforcement as a means of coercive control.
   
• There is support for people who do not have safe and secure accommodation, the means to support themselves and their families and vital healthcare services at this time, due to their immigration status.

COVID-19 doesn’t discriminate on the basis of situation or immigration status and our government mustn’t either. Together, let’s stand with the most vulnerable whether they live across the street or across the country.
