    Increases In Remote Physiologic Monitoring

    Remote physiologic monitoring allows for the digital transmission of health data, like heart rate and oxygen levels, to providers.

     

    In the May issue of Health Affairs, Nathan Pauly of Manatt Health Strategies and coauthors track remote physiologic monitoring use in Medicaid during the COVID-19 pandemic (2019-21).

     

    They conclude that across the United States, remote physiologic monitoring use increased more than 1,300 percent during the study period, but varied by state. 

     

    Rates of remote physiologic monitoring were also higher among those with diabetes or hypertension, those who were older, and among people in urban areas.
