Team,
Yesterday, the Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing on the urgent need to protect immigrant youth — as we know DACA is likely headed to the Supreme Court and could be on the chopping block.
The clock is ticking. Right now, hundreds of thousands of DACA recipients and DACA-eligible young people are awaiting a critical decision in a lawsuit seeking to end the DACA program. Will you chip in $10 right now to support our fight for permanent protections?
Tens of thousands of people have relied on DACA to be able to work as nurses, teachers, entrepreneurs, and valued employees, and in the process strengthened our communities and our economy. Yet our ability to work and live in the country we all call home is under threat because of a small contingent of right wing politicians hellbent on putting their lives at stake for their own political agendas.
The Senate hearing comes 23 years after the original DREAM Act — the legislation that would provide permanent protections to millions of immigrant youth — was introduced with bipartisan support.
Now, the DREAM Act has become partisan and controversial, used as a bargaining chip by right-wing politicians.
But we know for a fact that President Biden and Congress have the power to deliver. Now, we need to keep up the pressure to secure an expansive, inclusive pathway to citizenship that leaves no one behind. Will you join us?
If you’re able, please add a donation today to help keep up our fight for permanent protections. We’re grateful for any amount you can give in support of our ongoing work to uplift immigrant communities.
