Hey John, it’s Ciara Walton, the Chief Diversity Officer at Run for Something and Certified Trauma-Informed Leader. I’m reaching out to discuss mental health.
Mental health is one of the most pressing and often ignored challenges in our country today – and we’re tired of sitting on the sidelines while more and more politicians who don’t represent us are elected to office. It's time for a new wave of young progressive voices from various backgrounds to challenge the status quo, run for office and advocate for meaningful systemic reforms crucial to mental health.
Because the truth is John, mental health isn’t just a personal issue – it's a societal one. Discrimination, poverty and social isolation are just a number of ways that mental health challenges are exacerbated in our communities. We need systemic change to address those root causes – we need more mental health advocates in public office.
At Run for Something, we’re actively recruiting and working to elect progressive leaders at the federal, state and local level, who will break down the barriers and stigma that stand in the way of mental health care access.
So please, will you donate now to elect young candidates who are ready to make mental health care more accessible?
