No permit, no problem! Don't miss the chance to fish or visit state parks on Saturday, May 18, which is Free Fishing and Park Entry Day in Nebraska.
On this day, you can enjoy a Saturday of fishing or state park activities without the need to purchase a fishing or park entry permit for the day. Family fun returns with 2024 Community Fishing Events
Bring the family out to a Community Fishing Event and learn to fish, or pick up the sport again after years away. These statewide events in spring and summer provide opportunities for people of all ages to learn and enjoy the activity. Rods and reels, as well as bait and fishing instruction, will be available for free.

Nebraska Game and Parks accepting applications for outdoor recreation grants
Time to start applying! Nebraska Game and Parks is now accepting applications from municipalities and other organizations for 2024 Land and Water Conservation Fund or Recreational Trails Program grants. The grant application period began May 6 and closes at 11:59 p.m. Central time Sept. 6.

North Platte?s Nowak wins Cornhusker Cup
Congratulations to Landen Nowak of North Platte, who won the Cornhusker Cup at the 54th Cornhusker Trap Shoot in Doniphan, Nebraska. Nowak broke 74 of 75 targets at 16 yards May 3, then broke 71 handicap targets at 25 yards the next day at the home grounds of the Nebraska Trapshooting Association.
