We are devastated to report that Florida’s extreme 6-week abortion ban has officially gone into effect, banning abortion well before most women know they are pregnant. The impact of this ban will be felt far beyond Florida’s border. Women across the South will now be forced to travel hundreds or even thousands of miles to get this often life-saving care.

There is, however, a diligent and organized effort on the ground in Florida working to reverse this ban:

In November, our partners will need 60% of the vote to pass a ballot initiative to protect abortion access in Florida and reverse this draconian ban. This is a make-or-break moment for Florida. This vote will give the power back to the VOTERS instead of anti-choice GOP lawmakers and judges.

We know Floridians want to protect the right to full reproductive healthcare, not restrict it. They’ll have a chance to make their voices heard in November – but our partners in Florida need our immediate support to get voter turnout high enough to break the 60% threshold needed to get this measure passed.
