Hi John,
Shell is playing dirty.
The oil giant is suing Greenpeace for millions of dollars for a peaceful climate protest [1]. Now they’re trying to stop us from exposing their role in driving the climate crisis when we defend ourselves in court. [2]
So we’re going to court in a few weeks to challenge this dirty move by Shell. And we need as many people as possible to sign this open letter expressing outrage at Shell - please can you add your name now? If enough people sign the letter we can show Shell and the court that public opinion is firmly on our side - so every signature counts.

Every signature helps show public support for our fight
You’re not going to believe what Shell wants removed from our defence. It’s evidence where we lay out Shell’s decades-long history of climate denial and environmental destruction, that’s absolutely key to justifying the peaceful climate protest that Shell is suing us for.
The truth is, Shell is using this dirty tactic to try and silence us. But it won’t work, which is why we’re going to court on the 24th May to ask the judge to allow us to make our climate case.
But before we go to court we need to make our open letter as huge as possible to show the court and Shell that the public stand with us on this. Please can you sign our open letter? We only have a few weeks left to show the strength of public support for us.

Shell is suing us because they are scared. Everyone knows that their dirty fossil fuel business is driving devastating floods, fires and droughts around the world. It's only a matter of time before they're held responsible for this and forced to stop drilling and start paying for their climate chaos.
Believe me when I say that together we can defeat Big Oil and build a cleaner, greener future for everyone. A first step in this fight is to face down Shell in this court case - so thank you for standing with us and adding your name to our huge people-powered open letter.
In solidarity.
