The Town of Encampment, Wyoming, will conduct a public meeting at 5:30 p.m. local time on May 29, 2024, in the council chambers at Encampment Town Hall located at 614 McCaffrey Avenue. The purpose of the meeting is to allow citizens to review and comment on the following project.
The Town of Encampment Lagoon Improvements, Phase 2 Project will make improvements to the existing lagoon cell(s) in order to meet water quality compliance requirements currently not being met by the Town of Encampment. Specifically, periodic discharge permit limits for BOD and pH have been out of compliance due to inadequate treatment. The upgrades to the treatment process under this phase of the project will include installation of a submerged air diffusion system to improve aeration and de-nitrification activity as well as the installation of baffling within lagoon cell one to reduce short-circuiting and improve treatment. A new building will be installed adjacent to lagoon cell one to house the submerged air diffusion compressors and controls. The limits of construction for this project are completely within the boundary of the existing lagoon facility.
At the meeting, the Town of Encampment will present the preliminary design of the proposed project and will discuss the estimated cost of the improvements and the plan for funding the improvements. A preliminary plan of improvements, cost estimates, and the funding plan can also be reviewed at Encampment Town Hall located at 614 McCaffrey Avenue, Encampment, WY. Based on current cost estimates, the Town of Encampment intends to borrow $500,000 from the Wyoming Clean Water State Revolving Loan Fund administered by the Wyoming Office of State Lands and Investments with 75% Principal Forgiveness. User rate fees will not be increased as a result of this project. Loan terms will be 1.5% interest rate and the term of the loan will be 20 years.
