It has been my pleasure to serve as the General Counsel for the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs (MDVA) for the past nine years. As someone drawn to public service, I have always envisioned myself working for a government agency. In providing service ?to those who have served,? I have found a mission that closely aligns with my personal values.
MDVA fosters an inclusive, supportive and collaborative environment where it is easy to feel connected and motivated. MDVA leadership team has supported my growth by allowing me to learn new skills at the Emerging Leaders Institute (ELI) and other such trainings and empowered me to work on exciting projects with far-reaching impacts throughout the State of Minnesota.
My team is comprised of attorneys and other skilled professionals, all of whom focus on litigation, contracts, data practices, auditing, policy and rule-making (just to name a few areas), but each of us has a passion to affect and support the countless initiatives ? large and small ? of this agency. The work my team does matters and contributes every day to the larger mission, vision and values of MDVA. Whether it's solving problems, creating innovative solutions or helping our staff support Residents and Clients, the deep meaningfulness of this work reinforces why I love working at MDVA.
