Casey Costello has confirmed that the Therapeutic Products
Act will be repealed and a separate modernised regime for natural
health products will be developed.
New Zealand First has listened and acted on the concerns of
the Natural Health product industry and consumers for over 20 years,
speaking out and stopping similar legislation in the past.
However, despite opposition from 95% of submitters, Labour
passed the Therapeutic Products Act in 2022.
We campaigned and committed to repealing this Act – which
will happen this year.
New Zealand First believes in ensuring quality healthcare for
all New Zealanders. This includes giving people the opportunity to
make their own health choices and choose the right health products
that suit their needs.
