Subject: Mahalo Nui Loa for a Successful State Convention!
Aloha Members of the Hawaii Republican Party,
As we reflect on our recent state convention, I am filled with gratitude and pride for what we have achieved together, it was a lot of work. Over two days, we tackled substantial tasks including the consideration and approval of two rules changes, our platforms, and several resolutions. I am pleased to announce that all were successfully approved and completed on Sunday.
This year's convention was particularly memorable as we started the event off with an impressive presentation and Pledge of Allegiance from the local Boy scouts. On Sunday, we hosted a Parade of Candidates, providing a platform for all Republican candidates running for office to be recognized. It was an uplifting moment that showcased the strength and diversity of our party.
We also took time to honor the memory of cherished members of our party who have passed away, ensuring their legacies are remembered and celebrated. To include, Senator Sam Slom from Oahu, Michael Wilson from Kauai, Marian Grey from Oahu William Nations from Oahu, Mark Webster, and Cameron Hewines from Oahu.
We extend congratulations to Nolan Chang on his election as our new National Republican Committeeman, and to Laura Nakanelua for her re-election as National Committeewoman. Their leadership and commitment to our will be a source of inspiration for all of us.
A special mahalo to all the volunteers who tirelessly worked behind the scenes, setting up, cleaning up, credentialing, tallying votes, counting ballots, serving as sergeant-at-arms, and to Tiana Wilbur, as our diligent Convention Secretary. Everyone's participation made the convention a successful event.
Our gratitude extends to our guest speakers and to Representative Gene Ward for his years of service as the past National Committeeman. Each of you has contributed significantly to the fabric of our party.
Although not all proposed rules were passed, the approval of two bylaws marks as progress. It's a reminder that in unity there is strength, and even through disagreements, we can find common ground. This sentiment was captured when we joined hands from all over the state to sing "Hawaii Aloha," led by Chanara Richmond. It was a profound moment of unity and shared Aloha spirit.
As we move forward, let us continue to build on the momentum from our convention. Let's combine our efforts to support our Republican candidates and work towards seeing President Donald Trump lead once again.
Mahalo to everyone who participated and contributed to making the state convention a success. Let's keep the spirit of aloha as our guiding light as we advance our shared goals. Together, we are invincible!
