Jack, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) recently increased the cost of renewing Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), a program that offers temporary protection from deportation to eligible immigrant youth brought to the U.S. as children, from $495 to $555 for online renewals and $605 for paper renewals.

The DACA Renewal Fund, which provides financial assistance to DACA recipients, was already running low before these increases. There is a long waitlist of immigrant youth requesting financial assistance — but there aren't enough funds to cover everyone.

Please rush a $5 donation to United We Dream's DACA Renewal Fund to ensure current DACA recipients can renew their status before it’s too late.

Now, with fees increasing, more support than ever is needed to clear the waitlist and open doors to more DACA recipients–people raised and rooted in the United States. Many in the community are low-income and work to support their families. These fee increases may be a real barrier to immigrant youth who desperately need protections if additional help is not available.

The DACA program is vulnerable. Unless there is an influx of donations, it won’t be possible to reopen the application fund to the hundreds of DACA recipients who need help covering the increased renewal fees.

The DACA application fee alone costs $555. I’m personally asking you to contribute $5, or whatever is meaningful to you, to the DACA renewal fund today.
