I was 23 years old when I first got the call: my husband Scotty’s
Army unit was ambushed by a suicide bomber.

When I showed up at Walter Reed Hospital, he was in a coma, and
his eyes were pierced by shrapnel.

With Scotty unable to vouch for himself, I was his only advocate
- and I experienced government dysfunction for the first time
while fighting for his rights as a wounded soldier.

My name is Tiffany Smiley. When my husband was critically wounded
in Iraq, the government elite tried to hold my family back. But
we fought the establishment bureaucracy - and won.

Since that day, I’ve dedicated my life to changing how government
works for veterans and their families.

Now, I’m ready to take that fight to Capitol Hill. I’m running
for Congress to secure the American Dream not just for our
veterans and gold star families, but for EVERY American who has
been failed by the system.

We’re just getting started, and I’m going to need an A-Team by my

Sometimes it seems like the harder we’re fighting, the worse
things are getting.

The swamp, the bureaucracy, and grandstanding politicians are
picking away at the American Dream.

We’re spending money we don’t have while our border is wide open
and bringing crime and drugs to our cities.

Families are struggling with ever-increasing prices while
homeless veterans sleep on the streets.

But no matter how dark our days are, I still believe in America,
and I believe we can do better.

I’ve worked to change government from the outside for almost
twenty years.

But now I’m ready to get into the belly of the beast and deliver
real change for Washington families from Congress itself.

I hope that you, my friends and neighbors in the fourth district
who’ve always been there for Scotty and me, will be with us once
