Mia and her day-old piglets were rescued from a cruel backyard butcher. Thanks to caring people like you, they’re living their best lives together.
Through it all, Mia tried to keep her babies safe. Thankfully, five of her little ones (not so little anymore!) are now living the Farm Sanctuary life with their mom.
John, Mia was so protective when she arrived at sanctuary that she even tore down our hospital wall to reach her babies during health checks. Because, as we all know, nothing can stand in the way of a mother’s love.

Mia slowly began to trust in our caregivers as she saw her piglets experience only kindness at Farm Sanctuary. She’ll accept occasional affection and enjoy treats—but we know she’ll love a mud bath best!
