Give me a moment to explain what happened yesterday.
In the morning, our movement showed up like never before. A sea of 560 orange-clad survivors, doctors, priests, nuns, rabbis, nurses, teenagers, and everyday Pennsylvanians flooded through every part of the PA Capitol. We met with more than 100 legislators, rallied, and demanded action. I was filled with hope. With joy. With power.
Then, I watched as we lost both bills by singular votes in the House. That means more homemade machine guns spewing up to 1,200 bullets in our communities. It means more firearms are trafficked into our communities, all because a handful of cowards caved to the gun lobby.
I know we all need a moment to pause, to sit with our stubborn hope and righteous fury. My team does. But, we cannot wait a moment to let Pennsylvanians know exactly which legislators believe more guns and more bullets are the answer to our violence.
We are planning a $50,000 campaign to help voters understand exactly what happened – and the danger it poses. We have no gimmicky “matching” gift this time. We just have you. Will you channel your rage into action and help us reach this goal with a $5 donation today?
