John,
As we celebrate Women's Health Month, we must also acknowledge the challenges and threats facing women's rights and healthcare today.
Women continue to encounter barriers to essential healthcare like access to contraception, prenatal care, and maternal health services due to inadequate funding and resources. This underinvestment not only undermines women's health, but worsens existing health disparities.
If that weren’t enough, extreme legislators are shamelessly pushing pseudoscience and spreading misinformation to further their agenda – and all while they disregard the well-being and autonomy of women.
Many states across the country have implemented restrictive abortion laws or outright bans since the fall of Roe v. Wade. There’s even legislation that threatens to further limit access to vital fertility treatments and some forms of birth control. But let me be clear about something: The assault on reproductive care and the erosion of freedoms for women and families do not reflect the values of the majority of Americans, including most Long Islanders.
I firmly believe that women must be able to make their own healthcare decisions. I’m proud to have received the Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic Impact Award last year for advocating for access to reproductive care and empowering individuals to make choices about their own bodies. I’m ready to continue this work, taking a stand against extremists like my opponent who want to take away or limit healthcare for women. But I can’t do it alone.
If you're ready to elect a leader to Congress this November to defend women’s reproductive freedom, chip in $10, or whatever you can, to help me build a winning campaign. >> [link removed]
