John, meet Kelly Leibold – a brain cancer survivor, dedicated community advocate and recent election winner of the La Crosse County Board in Wisconsin.
Kelly is a Run for Something alumna who secured a landslide victory against her Republican opponent, a notorious 2020 election denier. Kelly scored a little win for her community and a big win for democracy.
As a survivor of brain cancer, Kelly brings a unique perspective to the table – one that’s rooted in optimism, empathy and community – just like many of our other alumni have before.
All of Kelly’s experiences have fueled her passion for civic engagement and prepared her to tackle pressing issues in her community, like climate change, homelessness and inclusion.
Progressive change at the local level relies on recruiting young progressives just like Kelly who will tackle community issues head-on. We’re doing just that – but our work depends on grassroots support from people like you. So please, will you help us hit our $5,000 fundraising goal by chipping in $5 or more to recruit young progressives?
