In the coming days the Board will complete a cost review of these eight drugs and develop an Action Plan to implement an Upper Payment Limit (UPL) system on costs. The first step is putting it in place to help reduce what our local and state governments spend. Next, with legislative approval, they can extend the UPLs to benefit all Marylanders.
Not surprisingly, as we get closer to making lower costs a reality, the drug lobbyists in our state are stepping up the pressure on the Board to slow down the process and reduce the number of drugs for review. Let’s not let Pharma call the shots!
Help us generate and submit tons of survey responses. Progressive Maryland and community leaders will also be contacting the Board.* Let’s do this!
Thank you!
