Too many people can’t afford their life sustaining and life saving meds! They skip doses, cut pills in half, rack up debt and scramble to find solutions. That’s unacceptable!

That’s why we’re fighting back, calling out drug company greed and price gouging.  We’ve made progress thanks to supporters like you and to the great coalition partners we work with on the state and national level.

We’re at a pivotal moment this week! Our state Prescription Drug Affordability Board has rolled out the first eight drugs that they’re considering for cost review. This is welcome news!  They came up with the list after doing extensive research, holding public listening sessions, and taking into account  the list of drugs Medicare has selected for drug price negotiation. Now they need to hear from us!

Take a few minutes now to:

 ➢ Check out the list of drugs   

 ➢ Complete a confidential survey.  We want to hear from everybody whether you use one of these drugs or if you have another high cost drug or drugs.

In the coming days the Board will complete a cost review of these eight drugs and develop an Action Plan to implement an Upper Payment Limit (UPL) system on costs.The first step is putting it in place to help reduce what our local and state governments spend. Next, with legislative approval, they can extend the UPLs to benefit all Marylanders. 

Not surprisingly, as we get closer to making lower costs a reality, the drug lobbyists in our state are stepping up the pressure on the Board to slow down the process and reduce the number of drugs for review.  Let’s not let Pharma call the shots!
