John, the start of this month was difficult, to say the least –
It was a dark day in our state as Florida joined the other dark-colored states on this map ⬆️ as the GOP's near-total abortion ban went into effect.
But in the face of MAGA extremists continuing to hold our rights hostage, I'm reaching out to say that this fight isn't over.
I want to say more, but if you can't stay and read the whole thing: I've been a pro-choice champion for our community in Congress for over a decade, and I know real change can't happen without strong shows of public support. There's no donation necessary – will you add your name to the list of folks standing against this draconian law? [[link removed]]

John, I've served South Florida for over 30 years, and I've never wavered in my belief that family planning and healthcare decisions should be kept between an individual and their doctor.
So when the GOP in Florida first required parental consent for abortion, I stood up against it.
When the GOP in Florida proposed their original 15-week abortion ban, I made it clear that this was the exact opposite of what Floridians wanted.
And now, with abortions banned at a time before most folks can even realize that they're pregnant, I will continue to fight for our right to make these decisions.
But there is some hope: John, I worked hard alongside pro-choice groups across the state to bring this issue to the ballot this November, and while I'll continue to work to ensure its passing, I want to make it clear that we can't stop here.
There's an incredibly difficult fight ahead of us, yet I'm confident that with public support, we can change things for the better – that's why I'm reaching out about our petition. Will you sign it to show MAGA extremists the strength of the pro-choice movement in South Florida? [[link removed]]
