Friend,

I can't help but feel concerned about the state of affairs in Congress. Once again, Marjorie Taylor Greene put Congress in a holding pattern while we waited to see if she would challenge the speakership. It’s no wonder members of the GOP caucus are dropping like flies.

From the first week of our 118th Congress, when it took 15 rounds of voting to elect Speaker McCarthy, to the three weeks and four candidates it took to elect Speaker Johnson in the fall, to the 10 months it took to pass a permanent budget, Republican leadership has failed the American people. They have wasted time on everything and spent no time passing legislation.

Our Democratic caucus is only growing stronger. Despite Republican chaos, we have stepped up, casting the votes that have ensured our government continues to remain open and funded. We’re ready to take back the majority this fall.

We don’t have any more time to waste with Republican dysfunction.
