I’m not exaggerating when I say that this race is too close for comfort, John.

We know North Carolina is the most competitive gubernatorial race in the nation, and it won’t be an easy road to Election Day. Polls show a statistical tie between my GOP opponent and me. U.S. News calls our race a “knock-down, drag-out contest.”

Not everything about our campaign’s success is within our control, but some things are — including meeting our financial targets. Raising the resources we’ve budgeted is key to fulfilling our planned campaign efforts and running an aggressive ground game. That’s why I’m personally asking you to pitch in a split donation between me and Valerie Foushee.

My GOP opponent, Mark Robinson, is too radical — and too dangerous — to be the next Governor of North Carolina. He wants to enact a total ban on abortion, further strip public schools of their funding, and continue to roll back North Carolinians’ voting rights. We can’t allow it.

Robinson and national Republican groups see this contest as their best opportunity to pick up a Governor’s office this year. They’re ready to go all in to defeat me.

It’s up to us to meet them vote-for-vote and dollar-for-dollar, John.

North Carolina is a deep purple state, and our victory is far from certain. We cannot afford a single misstep if we’re going to succeed. Please give what you can to help our campaign and Valerie Foushee’s. >>>
