Congressman Henry Cuellar indicted on charges of bribery and money laundering
John,
U.S. Representative Henry Cuellar and his wife were indicted last week on charges of participating in two schemes involving allegedly accepting nearly $600,000 in bribes from a company controlled by a foreign government and a foreign bank, unlawful foreign influence and money laundering.
Representative Cuellar’s alleged wrongdoing is blatantly and astonishingly corrupt. The actions outlined in the government’s indictment demonstrate that he abused his position to enrich himself and benefit foreign interests, betraying his constituents.
While Representative Cuellar deserves a fair trial and the presumption of innocence, the serious charges leveled against him make it inappropriate for him to remain in office. Out of respect for his constituents and for the office he holds, Representative Cuellar must resign.

Cuellar is just the second sitting member of Congress charged with operating as a foreign agent in violation of the Foreign Agents Registration Act, but he’s far from the first corrupt member of Congress.
From Aaron Schock to Duncan Hunter to Chaka Fattah to Bob Menendez, CREW has led the fight to remove corrupt members of the House and Senate.
John, serving in Congress is a privilege, not a right, and Americans should be able to trust that their representatives, regardless of party or ideology, are working for them.
That’s why we’re fighting to rid our government of corruption – and it’s why we are demanding that Representative Cuellar resign immediately.
