John,
Right now, 23 million Americans are at risk of being kicked off of the internet access they need to participate in our democracy because Speaker Mike Johnson and other far-right lawmakers are opposing funding for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP).
But here’s the good news: a bipartisan group of senators just took action to extend funding for the ACP – a crucial step towards keeping Americans connected with the information they need to fully participate in the 2024 elections. [1]
We must act NOW to save the ACP before it’s too late. Tell Your Senator: Support this bipartisan amendment to extend funding for the ACP and keep Americans connected with the internet they need to engage in our democracy.
The ACP makes a big difference for our democracy. Why? Because more and more, voters around the country rely on the internet to participate – from online voter registration, to researching candidates, to requesting mail-in ballots.
But John, 1 in 5 American households still don’t have access to their own home Internet! That’s why establishing the ACP was a huge deal – signing up 23 million people to get discounted or free internet access. [2]
The ACP is a federal program that provides eligible households $30 per month towards their internet bill ($75 per month for those on Tribal lands). [3] For years, it has helped bridge the digital divide and serve as a crucial lifeline for millions of Americans.
But now, without our immediate action – and right-wing members of Congress demanding huge cuts – this program could be left unfunded, and leave millions of households without internet access right before the 2024 elections!
John, we just can’t let that happen. Tell Your Senator: take action to extend funding for this crucial program today >>
I hope you’ll join me today in taking action to save this essential program.
Thanks for all you do,
