John, it’s Teacher Appreciation Week, and while I’m sure North Carolina teachers are glad to receive our thanks, they’re still waiting for the state to put our money where our mouth is by giving them a real pay raise.
Our teachers are dedicated to providing students with the best education possible — one that will set them up for success. But some teachers have to work second or third jobs just to pay their bills, after already putting in long hours at school.
How are teachers supposed to give their best to their students if they’re stretched that thin?
I know that investing in public education is key to creating the brighter future North Carolinians deserve and that includes investing in our teachers. My Republican opponent and GOP legislators want to defund public schools — and Republicans in the General Assembly have failed to give teachers the raises they need.
North Carolina legislators will soon be negotiating our next state budget, and I need your help to urge the GOP to prioritize raising teachers’ salaries. Please, add your name here to show your support >>>
Thanks for taking action,
Josh Stein
