Dear John,

Every year, contributions to the Torrey Action Fund advance our mission to make treatment for severe mental illness accessible to all who need it. While we can put a figure to dollar amounts, it is the impact of your generous donations that is is truly immeasurable.

Many of Treatment Advocacy Center’s staff members were drawn to work here precisely because of our founder, Dr. E. Fuller Torrey, whose books they read, or whose work directly touched their own lives. These are people with lived experience: parents, siblings, children, and loved ones of those suffering from SMI.

What makes Dr. Torrey uniquely special to our staff and our community is not just his trademark tenacity but the deep and compassionate conviction he brings to our mission and his life’s work. As expressed by our Legislative Advocacy Manager, Leslie Carpenter:

Over the next several weeks, we will share stories from members of our community showing how Dr. Torrey has brought not only extraordinary vision but a personal touch to the movement to create a world where individuals with SMI are treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. Will you help us continue that movement?

This year, we have set our most ambitious goal ever to raise $200,000 for the Torrey Action Fund by June 11. We know that with your generous help, we can reach this goal.

I am truly grateful for your support. I know that together, we will create a brighter future for everyone impacted by SMI.

Warmest regards,

Lisa Dailey
