Evergreen welcomes two climate powerhouses to our board
Friend,
I'm honored and thrilled to share the news with you today that Evergreen has welcomed two exceptional climate leaders to our governing board: Jade Begay and Evan Weber.
Evan Weber is the co-founder and former political director of the Sunrise Movement, where he helped write and advance the Green New Deal, and where he currently serves as board chair. He is now the managing director and co-founder of Our Hawai'i, where he builds multiracial coalitions to fight for local working families, and a policy fellow at Elemental Excelerator, where he leverages the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) to expand renewable energy and electrify working-class and Native Hawaiian households.
Here's what Evan had to say about joining Evergreen:
Jade Begay, Tesuque Pueblo and Diné, has worked with Indigenous organizations and Tribes from the Arctic to the Amazon to advance Indigenous-led solutions and self-determination through advocacy campaigns, research, storytelling, and narrative strategies. She currently serves on the first-ever White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council and is a research fellow developing climate data on Native communities in the U.S., and building pathways for Indigenous communities and Tribes to take advantage of the climate and infrastructure opportunities available in the IRA and Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).
Here's what Jade had to say about joining Evergreen:
As we enter the most climate-critical election year of our lives, we're grateful to have leaders like Jade and Evan fighting alongside us.
Give now to support our continued work toward a more just and inclusive clean energy future.

Onward,
Lena Moffitt
