For the last several months, we have worked with like-minded organizations to build the Only Citizens Vote Coalition, and help members of Congress understand that current law does not, in practice, stop noncitizens from registering to vote or from voting.
Today, we will launch the coalition and show support for Congressman Chip Roy’s bill to change the law so that documentary proof of citizenship is required when registering to vote, along with other changes.
You can watch a livestream of the press conference with the Congressman and others, including me, at 11:00 am ET/8:00 am PT on our website or our various social media accounts.
There are also two websites you can visit for more details and resources to help you quickly and easily take action on this issue, such as a how-to guide that has sample emails and messaging you can use.
