Early in April we launched our flagship Health Check report, detailing the poor state of nature in National Parks. Since then you've shared the shocking facts far and wide, and helped us raise over £20,000 to Revive our National Parks.

But now we need your help to put nature in National Parks firmly on the political agenda. Will you write to your representative to back nature recovery in National Parks?

THE CHANGES WE WANT TO SEE
We need everyone who cares about the future of nature in National Parks to take action to ensure four clear reforms are made for healthy nature in National Parks:

1. Make it clear: National Parks are for nature

Governments in England and Wales must set out reforms to ensure that National Parks are deemed as nature designations as well as landscape designations.

2. A New Deal for National Parks

We want to see significantly increased levels of public investment in National Parks.

3. Enforce the law and create new powers to halt harm and drive recovery

The ‘new deal’ for National Parks must provide the incentive framework to drive change, underpinned by new powers and enforcement to deliver the scale of change needed for nature.

4. A new ‘People’s Charter’ to ensure National Parks thrive into the future

This must ensure everyone can access and connect with nature in National Parks.

FIGHTING FOR THEIR FUTURE
2024 marks 75 years since the Act which enabled the creation of National Parks in the UK, together we fought for their creation and now we must fight for their future. Parks in England and Wales already play a huge role in the nature emergency but they could be doing so much better. By sending a letter to your representative you're making a difference for nature, climate and people.

Thank you,
