We know this to be true: wealth inequality in America is at staggering levels, the ultra-wealthy have rigged our tax code to serve their interests over that of the people, and Congress is unable or unwilling to fix this broken system.

History shows that state reliance on income or sales taxes to fund public goods and services results in a disproportionate tax on working families, while the ultra-wealthy avoid paying their fair share. One major reform to counteract wealth inequality is the wealth tax, and one type of wealth tax gaining national attention is a tax on the investment gains of the ultra-wealthy.
