Today is Philip Morris International’s annual meeting of shareholders (PMI’s SHM). I’ve been to these meetings before, and they are giant pep rallies where executives tout PR schemes and brag about profits.

But these meetings are also a tremendous opportunity for our campaign. On one of the most important days of the year for the corporation, we can make sure our voices are heard as well. Particularly this year when the World Health Organization's theme for World No Tobacco Day is “Protecting children from tobacco industry interference”. And that’s exactly what we’re going to do, by flooding PMI’s offices with phone calls, speaking out on social media, and working with the media to expose PMI’s abusive actions.

Will you make a quick phone call to PMI executives and tell them to stop interfering in public health policymaking, stop deceiving the public with PR about a so-called “corporate transformation,” and stop advertising Marlboro to youth?
