Our Lord during this Crisis <[link removed]>

Dear Friend,

We must never lose hope, brethren!

This is the overall theme of the Letter to the Hebrews that was written to encourage the early Church during a time of persecution.

Isn’t the Coronavirus a form of spiritual persecution?

It defies belief that – because of the COVID-19 pandemic – there will be NO public celebration of the Sacred Triduum this year in Rome.

How difficult this will be for all of us who have grown used to seeing the Holy Father leading the entire world in prayer during the high feast days!

Ever since the end of Christian persecution by the Roman Empire in the 4th century, the Easter Triduum has been publicly celebrated in Rome for more than 1700 years in spite of war, invasion, famine, and plagues... that is, until the annus terribilis of 2020.

As you know, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been suspended in many Dioceses around the world as well.

This is truly heartbreaking to many Faithful Catholics such as you and me.

But this crisis is not a reason to lose hope; the grace of the Holy Mass has not been cancelled! Most, if not all, of our faithful priests are celebrating Masses in private for us and our intentions.

Times like this – if we accept the challenges – provide opportunities that can forge us into Great Saints filled with unconquerable hope!

Just because we are not able to physically attend the Masses and Services of the Sacred Triduum doesn't mean that we should become lukewarm in our practice of the Ancient Faith.

Even though we may not be assembling together, we remain united across our homes and communities as one Body of Christ in communion with each other and with God.

We must never lose hope, brethren!

What can you do while this crisis lasts in order to stay strong in your Faith and continue on the path to holiness?

Pray a Spiritual Communion with your family at home:  In times of crisis and persecution when Holy Communion is not available, Catholics can strive to with a “fully conscious and active participation” receive Our Lord through the ancient practice of Spiritual Communion. This is especially important for the celebrations of Holy Week.

This beautiful custom, which has strengthened the hearts of ailing Catholics for generations, has unfortunately been forgotten in recent decades.

But you can bring it back and be empowered by Our Savior's loving protection by taking advantage of our ready-made "Spiritual Communion Service at Home" designed by our creative partners at Sit Stand Kneel and team of Faithful Priests.

This is great way to strengthen your domestic church, a term that refers to the family, the smallest body of gathered believers in Christ.

During this time of crisis and as the world shifts from being in the physical presence of the church community to a feeling of being alone, our prayers for society and strong family bonds are more needed than ever.

We must never lose hope, brethren!

Our faith tells us that for every cross there is a crown. We can draw something positive even from a pandemic and from our (temporary) deprivation of the sacraments.

We can come together and unite in prayer and rediscover the joy of family and building the domestic church.

The Spiritual Communion Service at Home is designed to be distributed electronically on a weekly basis and printed out at home.  It has the proper USCCB permissions through April 15 at which time reapplication will be made should there be a continued need.

PLEASE NOTE: Every Sunday during the entire pandemic period, we will send updated versions of the Spiritual Communion Service at Home. This is a FREE service to the faithful, and it will be our pleasure to remain united with you in prayer through it all.

May Our Lady of the Rosary bless you and your loved ones now and always!
