Friend,

When Islamist terrorist group Boko Haram kidnapped 276 Nigerian girls in 2014, world leaders and feminist organizations rallied together to call for their safe return through the “Our Girls” campaign. Celebrities, elected officials, women's organizations, and other public figures banded together to demand the safe return of the young girls.

Those same voices that previously condemned the actions of Boko Haram have remained silent in the wake of the atrocities committed against the Israeli women and girls by Hamas on October 7th.
The failure of these so-called “leading voices” to clearly condemn the sexual violence and atrocities that occurred on October 7th is a disgrace. So why is there still so much silence?

Anyone who claims to be an advocate for women must clearly and articulately stand against those who would use rape and sexual violence as a weapon of war—whether that’s in Israeli, Ukraine, China or elsewhere.

All of us at IWF have been working hard to use our voices as efficiently and boldly as we can. We’ve created ‘Our Girls’ video campaign and petition to categorically oppose sexual violence and the victimization of girls and women anywhere around the globe.

Join us. Sexual violence is never a just weapon of war. We stand with all women. They are all ‘Our Girls.’

This is just the beginning.

Sincerely,
