So, what is environmental racism? It impacts Indigenous, Black and other racialized communities. Industrial pollution and environmental hazards are much more likely to harm these communities. This unfairness leads to poor health outcomes and worsens existing social inequalities.

Bill C-226 aims to tackle this issue head-on. If it becomes law, it will ensure that affected communities have the tools and help they need to protect their health and well-being.

Bill C-226 passed in the House of Commons last year and is now making its way through the Senate. By supporting this bill, Senators can show their commitment to fairness, and to ensuring everyone has a right to a healthy environment.
