Good afternoon,

As the number of Coronavirus cases continues to rise across Arizona and the United States, I want to let you know that my office is here to help.

New Coronavirus Website

This week, we launched a new Coronavirus Resource page on our website that features important information about local resources as well as assistance for those seeking relief from various federal programs like the Paycheck Protection Program or Expanded Unemployment. This website will be updated frequently, and new resources will be added as they become available.

Working with Leaders

I’m working closely with local, state, and federal leaders to ensure our community is prepared to combat this crisis. Last week, I moderated a video conference call with the major Arizona hospitals, other members of the Arizona congressional delegation, and representatives from FEMA and the Department of Health and Human Services to discuss their response to the Coronavirus.

Gaining Resources

I also joined a bipartisan, bicameral briefing call with representatives from many government agencies:

  • The Small Business Administration discussed loans and grants available to small business owners:
  • The IRS gave updates on direct payments from the federal government; and
  • FEMA shared news regarding the distribution of critical personal protective equipment.

I was encouraged by the hard work and dedication of our leaders and look forward to future updates. I will share any news I get with you as soon as it becomes available!

Encouraging Stories

Though these are difficult times, I have also been extremely encouraged by the outpouring of kindness in our community. I loved this story about musicians in Sun City hosting a driveway concert with safe social distancing for neighbors.

I also enjoyed this story about a church in Glendale distributing free food and supplies to our community. I’m thrilled to see our community coming together during these uncertain times.
