Less than a day after Elaine called for Acting Secretary of the Navy Thomas Modly to be fired on MSNBC -- he resigned.
Modly flew halfway around the world to make disparaging remarks about a Navy captain who put himself on the line to get help for his crew during a COVID-19 outbreak on his ship -- calling him “naive” and “stupid”.
As a former Navy commander, Elaine knows we need leadership from top to bottom that will support our commanding officers and help them fight this pandemic -- making sure that our crews stay safe, healthy, and are able to return to the mission at hand.
In Congress, Elaine is using her oversight duties to serve as a powerful check on the Navy -- holding them accountable for taxpayer dollars and ensuring the well-being of our men and women in uniform comes first.
Elaine’s background makes her uniquely qualified to ask tough questions and get results -- can you chip in to keep her voice in Congress?
Elaine is ready to work with the new Acting Secretary to get through this crisis and ensure our sailors and marines get every resource they need.
Because when our service members are putting their lives on the line to defend our nation, they need to know that their leaders will stand behind them.
Thank you,
Team Elaine
