If dogs are supposed to be our best friends, how could anyone treat them this way? ([link removed])

TAKE ACTION: SAVE PUPPIES ([link removed])

Friend,

When rescuers found Pearl, she was all skin and bones, riddled with parasites and lethargic.

She was also pregnant with seven puppies, but because of her grave condition four died at birth at the puppy mill before they could even be rescued. The emaciated Weimaraner mother was among 33 dogs and one kitten who were saved from a North Carolina puppy mill. But she almost didn’t survive.

Like Pearl, many of the rescued animals were in dire condition because of maltreatment at the puppy mill, and they required veterinary care for months before being placed for adoption into loving homes. But not all dogs suffering in puppy mills are as lucky as Pearl.

Help ensure more animals are spared from inhumane conditions, friend! Urge your legislators to support the Better CARE for Animals Act (H.R. 5041/S. 2555) now. ([link removed])

Although Pearl was not rescued from a USDA-licensed facility, which the Better CARE for Animals Act targets, there are countless mother dogs just like her who suffer every day at USDA-licensed puppy mills. The Better CARE for Animals Act will help these dogs and puppies by giving federal agencies the tools to better collaborate to enforce the Animal Welfare Act, allowing them to step in earlier and save the lives of animals and relieve their suffering before it is too late.

We MUST demand that Congress take urgent action to pass this bill that will hold abusive puppy mills accountable for their actions. We know you agree: Dogs deserve better.

Puppies need your help today. Demand that your legislators take action to save the lives of animals and relieve their suffering before it is too late by passing the Better CARE for Animals Act. ([link removed])

Thank you,
