John,

Giant corporations are squeezing families for fatter profits. They’re using inflation as a shield for price gouging, and are making record profits in doing so.

The cost of basic groceries has jumped by 25% over the past four years, highlighting the dire consequences of unchecked price gouging in the U.S.

There is now legislation that aims to shield consumers from the predatory practices of price gouging that have left many struggling to afford necessities. Sign the petition in support of The Price Gouging Prevention Act of 2024!

The Price Gouging Prevention Act of 2024 (S.3803) is designed to protect us from this corporate exploitation by:

- Clarifying that price gouging is an unfair and deceptive practice under the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Act.
- Enabling the FTC and state attorneys general to halt sellers from charging grossly excessive prices.
- Allocating $1 billion in additional funding to the FTC to enforce these regulations.
- Providing a defense for small businesses acting in good faith against unjustified litigation.

Stop Price Gouging

Without the Price Gouging Prevention Act, corporations will continue to exploit periods of inflation and market shocks to inflate prices unjustly. But corporate profits should not outweigh the well-being of people.

Sign the petition: Protect consumers from price gouging and ensure that our economy works for everyone, not just the wealthy few.
