We at ASPIRE are laser-focused on fighting the systemic racism of the GOP. In the last ten years, Republican state legislators have implemented voting restrictions aimed largely at people of color in at least 25 states. They have drawn gerrymandered districts designed to, “be advantageous to Republicans and non-Hispanic whites,” according to one key GOP strategist. And on a federal level, Republicans have consistently attacked our immigrants with ever-increasing threats -- including with family deportation, even for those serving in our armed forces.

To stop this injustice, we’re working to get more diverse voices elected to Congress -- voices like TX-22 House candidate Sri Kulkarni. A former Foreign Service Officer, Sri Kulkarni has pledged to fight for criminal justice reform and educational equality. He has already earned the endorsement of Joaquin Castro, and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee just added Kulkarni to their “Red to Blue” program because they know Kulkarni can win.

We need Sri to win to stop the advancing of GOP-sponsored racism. According to The Texas Tribune, Republican candidate Kathaleen Wall is running a TV ad that, “embraces President Donald Trump's description of the virus as the ‘Chinese virus,’ saying the country ‘poisoned our people’ and must pay for it.”

Sri Kulkarni can protect this seat from GOP racism, but right now we’re $1,250 short of where we need to be to help Sri expand his digital outreach program and reach the voters he needs to win this seat. Kulkarni doesn’t take money from corporate PACs -- he’s relying on grassroots donors to help him flip this seat and expand the House majority.
