Dear John,


We are all here because of teachers.


Maybe it was a parent, our very first teachers. Or perhaps it was a school teacher who took a special interest in you.


But at some point, a teacher helped ignite our shared passion for civics and history, and made us want to light that spark in future generations of young people.


As we embark on Teacher Appreciation Week, we are grateful for you and for all of the civics and history teachers who came before us and inspired us.


Concepts like liberty and equality are not passed to our children in their DNA. These Founding principles must be taught and internalized, and this is what makes your work so vital to our communities and our nation.


You help our students understand our history, our government, and their rights and responsibilities as citizens. You teach them to think critically and engage civilly.


You make the integral connection between civic knowledge and skills, so our students are equipped to participate fully and thrive in American society.


At the Bill of Rights Institute, it has been our great honor to serve you for the past 25 years. We are more committed than ever to ensuring you and your students always have the high-quality, trusted resources and programs you need.


We will continue supporting you throughout the year with new curricula and training opportunities, and even new benefit programs that may interest you. There will be plenty more to say on that in the coming weeks and months.


For now, just know how deeply we respect and appreciate you and the vital work you do every day. Our students, our communities, and our nation need you more than ever.
