Safety. Belonging. Community.
All of us have these basic psychological needs. But for people who have
survived devastating crises, it is often difficult to find and rebuild these
fundamentals to social and emotional well-being.
Mental health services are a key part of Mercy Corps’ work with people
recovering from conflict, disaster, and poverty. [ [link removed] ]Below are a few examples
of this work in action — but first, let us know you agree that mental health
support is critical to community recovery with a gift that supports our
impact for communities across the globe!

Olena and her children (left) (top) found safety in a Mercy Corps-supported
shelter in Ukraine after the near-constant bombardments began affecting their
mental health. A Venezuelan refugee, Guadalupe (right) (bottom) found
belonging and mental health support in Colombia with our partner organization
Caribe Afirmativo.
Around the world, Mercy Corps partners with local organizations to meet the
social and emotional needs of people healing from the pain of conflict,
disaster, and displacement.
In Ukraine, Mercy Corps is supporting local shelters that help bring
safety and comfort to families who have been living in heavy conflict
zones.
In Colombia, our partner, Caribe Afirmativo is helping protect the rights
of the LGBTQ community, providing access to healthcare, social benefits,
legal assistance, and a sense of belonging.
In Jordan, Mercy Corps is providing engaging at-risk youth in programs to
encourage civic participation, implement community initiatives, and build
self-confidence.
