John,
When asked in an interview with The Hill, GOP Sen. Rick Scott (FL) stated, "If I was writing a bill [to ban abortion], I think 15 weeks is where the state is."
News flash, Sen. Scott: You can run for reelection, but you can't hide your anti-choice voting record.
Last April, Scott stated that he would have proudly signed Florida's six-week abortion ban into law if he were still governor. As a senator, Scott co-sponsored a ban that would have mandated prison sentences for doctors performing abortions.
Scott's EMILYs List-endorsed challenger Debbie Mucarsel-Powell is making sure the public doesn't forget. In responding to Scott's attempts to walk back his draconian agenda to voters, Debbie made it crystal clear: "[Rick Scott] supports banning abortion and putting women's lives in danger. I know when corrupt politicians attack one freedom, they never stop there. So I'm running for Senate to stop him."
That's why EMILYs List is proud to endorse Debbie Mucarsel-Powell to flip this Senate seat and send Rick Scott packing.
