There are plenty of differences between our grassroots campaign and the one propped up by Menendez Jr.’s corporate backers, but there is one thing I’d really like to highlight:

What voters are seeing and hearing from each campaign.

Our grassroots team is knocking on doors, making phone calls, organizing community events, and talking to folks face-to-face about the issues that matter to NJ families and their pocketbooks.

My opponent’s campaign is instead relying on corporate backers and the party establishment, while continuing to do the one thing that he’s consistently done since taking office: Avoiding facing voters.

Running a grassroots campaign requires resources, because we need to organize travel, recruit staff, train volunteers, the works. Will you chip in $25 to boost our on-the-ground efforts to reach even more New Jerseyans?

That campaign difference — our ground-up approach vs. Menendez Jr.'s top-down operation — also highlights a difference between how he and I view public service, John.

Since taking office, Rob Menendez Jr. has yet to hold a single town hall to field questions from those he was elected to represent.

To say I’ve taken a different approach would be an understatement.

Our entire campaign is a testament to what we can accomplish together. It’s the guiding principle behind my service as Mayor of Hoboken, and it’s how I intend to serve if elected to represent NJ-08 in Congress.

Here’s the challenge, though: Reaching voters where they’re at — at their doors, on the phones, across social media, and in their communities — isn’t cheap. Can I count on you to keep powering our campaign with a quick grassroots donation?

We’re stronger together, John, and this grassroots team is a testament to that principle.

Thank you for being a part of it.
