Dear John,
Once again, the Governor of Illinois has put politics before people.
In less than 48 hours, Bill 2412 was pushed through both state governing bodies and signed by Pritzker. This bill eliminates the ability of a party to slate candidates, reducing competition. And since only up to 3 advisory questions can be added to any ballot during the General Election, it states the 3 questions that will be on the ballot - bumping the peoples' efforts to add a Parental Rights question.
This is a direct snub to all parents across Illinois.
The Parents Matter Coalition has been working tirelessly to add a question on the November ballot that draws attention to a parents' right to be involved in their children's medical issues. Currently under new law, if a parent opposes medical treatment - vaccines, gender affirming surgery, etc., they can be imprisoned, and their kids taken away.
Pritzker has gone before the cameras stating this is an ethics issue. It is NOT. It is pure politics. The democrats were concerned with the strength of the movement the Parents Matter Coalition was leading to protect parental rights. In a move to squash those efforts, they enacted this bill and signed it into law within hours of the filing deadline for the Parents Matter advisory question to be placed on the ballot.
Our Rights are at stake, both locally and nationally. By supporting democrat policies such as these, Sean Casten is working against us in Congress. When I am in Congress, I will work to bring common sense back to the forefront and protect the constituents District 6, and all Americans.
