Mayor Bowser honors Council President Samuel Epps
|
Last week DC Mayor Muriel Bowser (left) hosted a reception to welcome Samuel Epps (center) as the incoming president of the Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO. Former Council President Jos Williams (right) joined the event at the MLK Library in downtown DC.
"I've gotten to know Sam Epps over many, many years," Mayor Bowser said at the event, "and I know that without hotels and great hospitality, we wouldn't be able to get anything done in this city. So I think it's notable that the Metro Washington Council AFL-CIO is going to be led by a person who comes from that tradition, who loves Washington DC, who is willing to stick his neck out for workers and for the best city in the world."
