It’s Teacher Appreciation Week and as one myself (along with being a donor and a reader of The Hechinger Report), I encourage you to celebrate (and support! ([link removed]) ) journalism that informs educators’ work and educates those outside school walls.

I discovered The Hechinger Report during Covid-19, when everything was so unprecedented; I was seeking insights into how other teachers, schools, districts and states were responding.

Other media sources covering education felt disconnected from my daily experience and failed to focus on the human beings in the classroom who matter so much to me. Only The Hechinger Report’s stories resonated with what I was encountering.

As educators, we never stop learning, and The Hechinger Report’s newsletters have become an invaluable resource for me. They offer easily digestible education news that not only informs but also teaches.
