Dear John,
Israel has begun to attack Rafah in the southern part of Gaza, one of the most densely populated areas on Earth. Hundreds of thousands could be killed – yet the UK government is still allowing arms to be exported to Israel.
This must stop. The UK has a responsibility to prevent civilians being killed and injured. Allowing the export of weaponry and military technology is contributing to the suffering.
We need you, John, to

urge your MP to push for an end to arms sales as a crucial step to stopping the suffering in Gaza.

Call for arms sales to end
People are trapped in Rafah
Countless people have fled to Rafah in recent months to escape Israeli attacks in the north of Gaza. Now the Israeli government has ordered people sheltering there to leave.
But they have nowhere to go. The area the Israeli government is directing them to move to is already overstretched, with not enough food, shelter and medical supplies.
Ending the fighting means ending arms sales
This is why we need the UK government to take a stand and

end arms sales to Israel .
Our voices can help to bring this about. Thousands of us have already joined a powerful movement of people around the world calling for an end to the conflict. Leaders have responded by calling for fighting to stop, with the UK government itself voting in favour of an immediate ceasefire at the United Nations.
But calling for an end to the fighting while allowing weapons to be exported to Israel is outrageous. As Pope Francis has reminded us, “To say ‘no’ to war means saying ‘no’ to weaponry”.
John, please keep up the pressure for an end to the war and to suffering by contacting your MP.
