WhoFundsThem is our new project, looking into the financial interests of MPs and APPGs — with your help — and publishing it in a clear and accessible way on TheyWorkForYou. Read more about the project here ([link removed]) .
Here's Julia explaining the project in 60 seconds — or read on to find out more.

** What's the thinking?
------------------------------------------------------------
We designed TheyWorkForYou ([link removed]) to take hard-to-understand information and make it accessible. One of its most popular features is MP voting record summaries (recently updated ([link removed]) ), which take information about votes and group them into policy categories that people care about.
Now we’d like to apply that same philosophy to the Register of Members’ Financial Interests - using volunteers to help us create easy to understand summaries of second jobs, donations and other financial interests of MPs.
We'll put the information onto TheyWorkForYou, and also share the data in a spreadsheet that anyone can download and use.
** Can you volunteer?
------------------------------------------------------------
We need volunteers who are passionate about accountability of politicians, to help gather the information. If you can volunteer just a few online hours a month, you can help make this possible!
We’re hosting a webinar on at 7pm on Tuesday 14 May for anyone who wants to know more about what volunteering will entail. Register here ([link removed]) .
Can’t make this time? Don’t worry, we’ll share the video afterwards.
** Will you donate?
------------------------------------------------------------
If you can't commit time, please do donate a few pounds to help us run this project, and others like it.

At a crucial time for UK politics, we want to do what mySociety does best: bring transparency to how Parliament operates.
We know many of us are feeling disillusioned about UK politics: here is one tangible step to make a real difference.
